Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg may not stop at anything to ensure that he is the only and unchallenged player in the social media world.
This is clear from the latest update of the Facebook Messenger.
In an update, Facebook has rolled out ‘Messenger Day’ for its chat platform Messenger.
The new update works exactly like Snapchat, which has been under the scrutiny of Mark Zuckerberg since long.
Messenger Day allows users to share photos and videos as a story that will disappear after 24 hours. Users can also put in additional filters, texts and stickers inside these posts.
This is exactly how Snapchat works and has been able to acquire its growing user base.
Mark Zuckerberg has rolled out such a feature in other platforms owned by him as well.
In August, Instagram Stories made its debut which mimicked this very concept of sharing photos and videos for 24 hours.
In February, Facebook-owned Whatsapp, which has the largest user base amongst all the apps, rolled out Whatsapp ‘Status’ which is again, the very same thing as Instagram and Snapchat Stories.
Now that Snapchat has declared an IPO and saw growth in its value on its debut at the stock exchange, Mark Zuckerberg can be trusted to put in even more efforts towards curbing its growth and promoting his own subsidiaries
