Cauvery River Water dispute: Supreme Court of India(SCI) directs Karnataka to release 2000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu, to begin final hearing from July 11,2017
The Supreme Court of India(SCI)on Tuesday March 21,2017 directed the Karnataka Government to release at least 2,000 cusecs of Cauvery river water to Tamil Naduon a daily basis.
The bench headed by justice Dipak Misra omprising Justice Amitava Roy and Justice A. M. Khanwilkar heard the petition regarding the dispute on Cauvery river between the two neighbouring states.
The SCI has fixed July 11,2017 as the next hearing date.
It is to be noted that the apex will begin the final hearing of the Cauvery water disputes case from July 11 and will continue hearing the matter for 15 consecutive working days.
